ASSOCIATION ELECTION – Election of Association Board has been postponed until the 2008 Reunion so that we can get a Management Plan written and out to the Membership and get their feedback.  If you have any recommendation for officers contact the Secretary.  More will come out later.  All Association Board positions will be up for election/re-election.

2007 DMOR INDUCTIONS CEREMONY - Col. Ret. Skip Baker is working on this year’s DMOR Induction Ceremony and will let us know when the dates are finalized.  It is tentatively scheduled for late September since the 1st Division reunion is in August in St, Louis.  It is tentatively scheduled for the period September 26-29.  Hopefully, many of you will be able to make this year's Induction Ceremony for our new DMORs.

Division Reunion -This year’s Society of the 1st Infantry Division reunion will be held in St. Louis during the period 8-12 August  The Regiment will have its CP but all reunion reservations must go through the Society.  For those attending please try to make the General Membership Meeting Friday morning because we have some very important issues to discuss.

ASSOCIATION DUES - If you haven’t paid your dues remember you can now pay your dues on line.  This is something our members have been asking for several years, especially our active duty soldiers.  If you haven’t paid you 2007 dues yet please go on line and pay today.  Your Association needs your support.

BAND OF BROTHERS- Ghost Riders Organization got off the ground in June and now has thirteen Charter Members from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and California.  It is open to riders and non-riders.  Although it will be affiliated with the Regimental Association it is an independently funded organization and as such will not receive any funding or support from the Association.  It will have its own membership dues and the primary purpose of this organization will be to participate in fund raising events for both civilian and military activities.  Two activities are planned for August and September.  First event will be on August 19th and the money raised will go to the family of a soldier killed in Iraq.  Steve Biernacki and Wayne Grilz are sponsoring this event in Ashley, PA.  Next, we will ride to San Diego again for the Tour de San Diego in support of the Officer Gerald K. Griffin Memorial Trust Fund with the proceeds going to the San Diego Children’s Hospital Cancer War.  If you would like information on the organization or rides lets me know.  Contact me at gkgkpag@msn.com.  We are also planning a ride to Key West FL and Fort Riley in 08.  Our patch is shown below.  We also plan on meeting each year in Washington to ride in the Rolling Thunder as well as other group rides throughout the country including Key Spread the word.  We also have T-Shirts available for $17.00 plus $3.00 postage to commemorate our first ride as the Band of Brothers.  Spread the word and remember that the group is open to all former members of the military, police officers, fire fighters and their families.  The Web Site is located at: www.BandofBrothers-GhostRiders.org. This organization is not in competition with any other group of riders, nor are we trying to replace any other organization.  There are sufficient needs from military, police and fire fighter families that all of us can make a contribution.

ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP - All of us need to be involved in getting new members for our Regimental Association and trying to locate old members.  We also need the help of our Company Associations.

ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT PLAN - At this year’s general membership meeting we will provide copies of a draft Association Management Plan for your comments.  Ed Gripkey and Sandi Kruse will review all comments and complete the final draft of the Plan for approval.  We are hoping that the document will be a guide and basic document that outlines where we want to go and how we plan on getting there.  It should be of interest and importance to all members, not just the Board.  With the exception of providing copies of the original IRS Bylaws and Articles I have not actively participated for obvious reason.  I hope than all of you will plan on attending this important meeting on Friday morning.  I have also provided below a Proposed Agenda for the Board and the Membership Meeting.
